Poetry
We have started a new unit! Poetry!
Every morning, we write a journal. So since this is a poetry
unit, we are writing poetry journals.
Before started anything, we evaluated a poem by a famous writer.
I read "Sick," by Shel Silverstein.
The first thing we studied in poetry was imagery. We began
by a describing exercise. Then we wrote a poem.

Before Christmas Break, we wrote odes about some part of winter.
Mine is a Snow Ode.
Also, we wrote parodys to famous Christmas songs. Tiffany
and I worked together to write Mr. Claus. It goes to the
tune of the Grinch one. (you know, "You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch...")
At the end of this poetry unit, we studied 3 types of poetry using
the Discovering Poetry site.
