"Sick", by Shel Silverstein

"Sick" is a wonderful and fun poem.  I love how this girl wakes this huge excuse to not to go to school, until that she finds out that it is Saturday.  Rhyming is a big factor in this poem.  Shil Silverstein's poems almost always rhyme, making every poem special.  It sounds so good!  As this girl goes on, each sentence gets more outrageous.
Iambic Pentameter of English gives this poem a good rhythum.  Each line in this poem has eight sylables.  You don't notice this, but it brings the whole rhythum together.  Alliteration is a big factor that plays in "Sick."   Compairing problems with objects shows how sick she is.
